Resident/fellow recruitment for the shortage subspecialties

The Massachusetts Medical Society has studied physician labor market conditions in Massachusetts over the eight year period of 2002 to 2009. Current data indicates that the following seven subspecialties meet the criteria for critical or severe labor market conditions: dermatology, family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, OB/GYN, urology and vascular surgery.*

Below are the number of UMMS residents/fellows hired into these shortage subspecialties in the last two years.
