The Office of Community Affairs, in coordination with Worcester Local First, is conducting a food drive through Saturday, April 3, to benefit the Worcester County Food Bank. Donations of non-perishable food items can be placed in the bins located in the Medical School lobby, near the clinical elevators on the first floor of the Medical School, in the LRB lobby and in the South Street campus lobby.

Sara Shields, MD, clinical associate professor of family medicine & community health, and Lucy Candib, MD, professor of family medicine & community health, editors of Women Centered Care in Pregnancy and Childbirth, will be presenting Writing about Woman-Centered Maternity Care: How and Why on Wednesday, March 17, at 5:30 pm in the Rare Book Room of the Lamar Soutter Library. Their book will be available for purchase and to be signed. Refreshments will be served beginning at 5 p.m.
The 11th Annual Primary Care Days program will be held on Thursday, March 18, and Friday, March 19, at the Hoagland Pincus Conference Center on the Worcester Foundation Campus in Shrewsbury. Running from 7 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. on Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, the program will feature concurrent presentations on a range of primary care topics, from which attendees can choose to formulate their own learning track. Faculty will use didactic and case presentations. Each session will be facilitated by a primary care physician who will engage the audience and keep the discussion on track. The one-day course “Cognition, Fatigue and Psychiatric Co-morbidities in Multiple Sclerosis” will be held on Friday, March 19, at The Beechwood Hotel in Worcester from 7:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. This course is designed to address recent advances in research and care of patients with multiple sclerosis.
