.jpg) | | Crystal Benjamin, MD is a graduate of St. George’s University and New York University. She completed her MPH in Public Health in December, 2006. Crystal was born in Staten Island, NY and has volunteered in the NYC Free Clinic for several years. Crystal chose to enter family medicine, recognizing the crucial role of providing continuity of care and guiding patients through a fragmented system. She looks forward to applying her skills in community health promotion and disease prevention. Crystal is also a member of our Global Health Track. |

.jpg) | | Kavita Deshpande, MD is a graduate of Ross University and the New York Institute of Technology. She was born in New York, NY and grew up watching and helping her father in his community pharmacy in a depressed lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan. Kavita has volunteered as a tutor, tennis instructor and as a member of Friends of Espwa Dominique to raise money for local families in Dominica. She is moderately proficient in medical Spanish. |

.jpg) | | Edward Jackman, MD is a graduate of the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He has a Bachelor's degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY and an M.B.A. from Wake Forest University. Edward ("Jack") served in the U. S. Military as a Combat Arms Officer for 14 years, serving combat tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq. He was inspired to derail his notable military career after an experience escorting a medical mission to a remote Afghan village.
Jack was born in Natick, MA, grew up in central MA, and he now resides in Holden, MA. After 20 years away from home serving in the military and then completing medical school, he is happy to complete his training close to home. He is married to the former Miss Pamela Hauge of Dudley, MA and they have a teenage daughter, Kaylin, and a dog, Dakota. |

.jpg) | | Jennifer Smith, MD graduated from St. George’s University and is also a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA. Jennifer has done extensive volunteer work with the
underserved populations in the Boston area. Her goal for training couldn’t be more consistant with that of her chosen program: to be a family physician delivering culturally competent care to communities of all socio-economic backgrounds. She is a member of the Physician for Human Rights, American Academy of Family Physicians and enjoys playing soccer and dancing. |

 | | Christine Wang Ashour, D.O. is a graduate of New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and has a M.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a B.S. in Biology and English from Duke University. Prior to medical school, she was a researcher and has published in Pediatric Research and Cancer Research.
She also has a long history of volunteering in the community such as working on a medical mobile unit in Far Rockaway, NY and teaching and mentoring at-risk teens in New York City. She is a lover of the arts and enjoys independent films, opera, and modern art. Christine enjoys yoga and going biking, hiking and camping with her husband.

 | | Jeff Wang, MD, a graduate of St. George’s University, holds a Masters in Public Health degree from Boston University. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was a member of the Berkeley Collegiate Taekwondo Team. Prior to pursuing a medical career, he worked at SAS Institute as a systems engineer. As a medical student, he collaborated on a research project titled Student Education in Family Medicine Patient-Centered Medical Home and presented the results at the AMA conference in New Orleans. Jeff is fluent in various Chinese dialects with learning knowledge of Spanish. During his limited leisure, Jeff enjoys exploring new cultures through his travels. |

 | | Nicolas Hernandez, MD earned his medical degree in 2008 from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. In 2003, he received his BS in Biology from SUNY Stony Brook. Nicolas has an extensive background of community service and volunteering. Nic did an awesome job as a subintern here a year ago while enrolled in studies at New York Medical College. After years of visits since his youth for church meetings, he is almost as at home in Leominster as he is with this family in New York. His personal interests include music and sports.

 | | Jennifer Lin, DO is a 2011 graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and earned her BA in Biology from Cornell University in 2006. Jen enjoys the versatility of family medicine. She joined us for an elective here as a third year student, showing her outstanding clinical care and team work at the ACTION Health Center and in work with the residents. She grew up n Cherry Hill, NJ. Jen enjoys ballet, Chinese dance, photography, and traveling to different countries. |

 | | Ryan Montoya, MD is a 2011 graduate of UMass Medical School and earned his BA in Biology from Harvard College in 2005. He spent many years as a laboratory researcher at the Forsyth Insitute in Boston. Ryan has a longstanding interest in both art and medicine and he has been published twice in the Journal of Dental Research. In additon to being a hedge fund manager, Ryan also is an amateur photographer and comic book artist. |

 | | Stephanie Muriglan, MD graduated in 2011 from St. George's University and received her BA in Biology (1999) and MS in Biology from New York University as well as her MA from the College of New Jersey. Stephanie worked as an EMT in New York City for several years after her studies. She is drawn to the work of our community health center due to witnessing profound gaps in care from an urban ambulance. She's served as President of her school's chapter of Women in Medicine, speaks Spanish fluently and enjoys camping and photography.  | | Luisa Hiendlmayr, MD is a 2011 graduate from Ross University. A native New Yorker, Luisa graduated from Hunter College with a BA in Biology in 2006. Luisa worked as an EMT before attending medical school. She has a strong interest in preventive medicine and pediatrics and is fluent in Spanish. Luisa enjoys teaching as well as biking and skiing and is looking forward to training in New England. |

 | | Samantha Richards, DO graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. A product of a farm family in Maine, she ventured out to Michigan for a BA in Spanish from Hillsdale College in 2004. Samantha was thrilled to study manipulative medicine, and enjoys putting her studies into action. In her spare time she likes to read and play the harp, although she uses her not-spare time to cook flavorful foods. She loves sharing recipes, particularly the pumpkin ones
