Continuous learning....serving the community...a whole that is greater than its parts......

Experience the full breadth of family medicine while practicing in a picturesque New England town!

For over 35 years, the Barre Family Health Center (BFHC) has been the sole provider of health care for the people of Barre and its 10 surrounding communities. The closest ED is over 16 miles away and there are no other physicians in the area. This unique locale provides an ideal environment for practicing the entire spectrum of family medicine.

Our State-of-the-Art Facility

We are proud of our state-of-the-art health center. In addition to the basics, it is enhanced with on-site stress testing, a fully equipped treatment area for assessment and stabilization, a CLIA-certified laboratory, digital radiography featuring real–time access to a radiologist, bedside ultrasound, bone densitometry and digital mammography.

The facility supports Wi-Fi access. Allscripts, our electronic medical record, offers electronic prescribing, electronic ordering and results verification, sharing of medical information throughout our institution and improved flow of and access to medical information between providers in our facility. The UMass library is only a mouse-click away, and video teleconferencing brings hospital-based conferences, meetings and Grand Rounds to Barre.

"For the "Inside Word" About Barre....
