Operating Room Rotation
Hahnemann Campus
Shattuck Hospital
Residents will rotate through the operating room at the Hahnemann Campus, affiliated with the University of Massachusetts Memorial Center, or the Shattuck Hospital. Both sites offer opportunities to treat patients in the hospital operating room setting.
Residents will gain experience in the following areas:

History and Physical patient evaluation

Informed consent and guardianship issues

Pharmacological treatment for pain and anxiety

Comprehensive dental rehabilitation performed under general anesthesia

Admission, discharge, record maintenance, dictation, and patient follow-up
The Hahnemann Campus in Worcester is the site of nine operating rooms providing outpatient surgical services to UMass Memorial Health Care as well as several outpatient clinics. Each year, approximately 9.000 patients receive outpatient surgical services at this facility.
