Great Brook Valley Health Center
Founded in 1972, the Great Brook Valley Health Center provides comprehensive medical, dental, and mental health services using an integrated model of primary care. The health center has four full-service dental sites, plus two elementary school programs.
Services are provided to both pediatric and adult patients and include:
- examination
- prophylaxis
- restorative
- prosthodontics
- endodontics
- emergency treatment
- oral surgery.
The health center has its own dental laboratory which provides quality products at an affordable price. The health center pharmacy is also used by patients to fill prescriptions written by dentists. The dental program is staffed by 42 employees including 10 dentists, four dental hygienists, and a part-time oral surgeon.
The multicultural staff facilitate patient/provider relationships and interpreter services are provided in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Albanian. In calendar year 2004, the health center treated 8,399 patients for a total of 28,908 visits. Ninety-two percent (92%) of patients have incomes at or below 200% of the Federal poverty level.
