Family Medicine Practice-Based Research Network
The overall mission of the UMMS Family Medicine Practice-Based Research Network is to facilitate and promote primary care research that aims to advance knowledge about health and healthcare relevant to providing our patients higher quality, safer, and more accessible preventive, diagnostic, and treatment services.
Established in 2007, the PBRN is the internal infrastructure for the development of community-based primary care practice research activity. The steering committee, comprised of department staff and over 30 members representing community health center and academic group practice primary care clinicians, is the central decision-making body.
The PBRN is a member of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality PBRN Resource Network
