Dr. Charles W. Lidz is a Research Professor of Psychiatry.Most of Dr Lidz research is related to ethical issues in research and clinical care. This includes a study of how clinical researchers manage the competing interests in providing excellent clinical care to their subjects and following protocols that often, of necessity, restrict the provision of clinical care. Related work focuses on therapeutic misconception in research subjects and a study of decision making in IRBs. Dr. Lidz is continuing analyses of previously collected data on violence and mental illness.
