Potential Rotation Projects
Project 1: On the study of the role of CBF factor in hematopoiesis and leukemia, you will use knock-in and knock-out mice for each CBF protein to study their effects in stem cell function.
Project 2: We have used Affymetrix oligonucleotide arrays to identify gene expression profile of various hematopoietic progenitors expressing Cbfb-MYH11. You will use molecular biology techniques to validate and characterize their function during differentiation.
Project 3: We have used retroviral insertional mutagenesis to identify candidate genes that may collaborate with Cbfb-MYH11 in leukemia. You will use this approach to identify and study new Cbfb-MYH11 cooperating oncogenes.
Project 4: We use molecular and genetic tools to study the mechanism of PlagL2 function in hematopoiesis. We have identified candidate PlagL2 targets using Affymetrix-based gene expression profiling. You will participate in the characterization of these targets.
