The goal of our research program is to investigate ways to prevent diabetes in at risk individuals, and to cure patients already diagnosed with the disease. The Diabetes Division has a rich and ongoing history of combining basic and clinical research efforts to create a multifaceted approach aimed at ridding the world of diabetes.
Our strategy is to maintain a dynamic and interactive research program that includes perspectives from both the laboratory bench top and the patient’s bedside. The University of Massachusetts Medical School has assembled a talented and dedicated group of basic and clinical researches to study diabetes and to advance our understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying the disease process.
