Disability Determinations

Determining whether an individual meets a particular program's criteria to be qualified as disabled, and to what degree, through a fair and accurate process, lies at the heart of what we do at UMass Medical School's Disability Evaluation Services. We offer a single-point, quality-tested approach that incorporates both a medical and vocational review of each case. Our coordinated determination process exceeds benchmarks for both state and federal programs and delivers results in a timely and cost-effective manner. We maintain these high-quality standards while handling more than 40,000 disability determinations each year.
