Populations We Serve
Many Americans have some significant sensory, learning or physical disability that is a barrier to employment and can interfere with daily activities. They often need income support, health insurance, and access to benefits from public agencies. UMass Medical School’s Disability Evaluation Services aims to assist these individuals with the application and review process in order to access state and federal benefits.
Disability Evaluation Services provides disability determination and other disability-related services to Medicaid and public welfare agencies in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We handle tens of thousands of applications from individuals with disabilities seeking to obtain the public benefits and services they need. We respond to the unique needs of these vulnerable populations to help them complete the disability review process. Our staff interacts frequently with individual applicants and their representatives to help educate and guide them through the process.
