Esmeralda Valois joined us as our new residency coordinator in June 2011.
Nathaniel Jellinek, MD, a nationally renowned nail specialist, has been appointed as an academic professor and gives multiple resident lectures on the topic of nails and nail disease during the year.
Chief residents now rotate with Nathaniel Jellinek, MD during his nail clinic and with Lorraine Lorentz, NP for sclerotherapy sessions on select Thursday afternoons.
Dori Goldberg, MD runs a cosmetic dermatology clinic for senior residents on Thursday afternoons, and also has regular cosmetic teaching sessions scheduled throughout the academic year for all residents.
John Harris, MD, PhD sees patients with vitiligo and other autoimmune diseases weekly in his two resident clinic. His newest clinical trial is looking at the efficacy of an oral medication for the treatment of vitiligo.
Last year's Camp Liberty was held August 14-19, 2011 for ages 8-16. This AAD sponsored venture organized by the UMass and Yale pediatric dermatology programs had 30 campers last year! We are looking forward to having 50 campers from August 12 – 17, 2012.
The first floor of Hahnemann campus is home to the new spacious pediatric dermatology clinic.
Patrick O'Donnell, DO joined the UMass Memorial Health Care Dermatopathology faculty for the 2011-2012 year.
Jeffrey Mailhot, MD joined the UMass Memorial Health Care Dermatology faculty for the 2011-2012 year and has a special interest in rheumatologic dermatology.
Andrea Pearson, MD will be joining the UMass Dermatology faculty for the 2012-2013 academic year.
The ACGME accredited dermatopathology fellowship entered its third year with our fellow, Michelle Hure, MD. Jennifer Rivard, MD will be the fellow for 2012, Mariko Yasuda, MD will be the fellow for 2013, and Kristine Cornejo, MD will be the fellow for 2014.
David Judy, DO is the ACGME accredited Procedural Dermatology fellow for 2011 and Elizabeth Foley, MD is the fellow for 2012.
