Purpose 

The Proteomics Core offers DERC investigators the latest instrumentation for protein/peptide mass spectral analysis.  Our equipment includes

  • Shimadzu Biotech Axima TOF2 (Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption tandem Time-of-Flight (MALDI-TOF-TOF) mass spectrometer.
  • Axima QIT ( Quadrupole Ion Trap Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Time-of-Flight (MALDI-QIT-TOF) mass spectrometer.
  • Finnigan Electrospray LCQ Deca Ion Trap mass spectrometer (ESI LC/MS/MS).

Fees

(DERC members have priority in obtaining core services.  Note that acknowledgement of the use of DERC Scientific Core resources is required in any resultant publication, paper, or presentation.)

Protein identification via MALDI-TOF or LC/ESI mass spectrometry.

Rates are per gel band or spot; multiple band or spot discounts are available.

Services include in gel enzymatic digestion, ZipTip cleanup, MS and MS/MS analysis of selected peptides, and database searching.

Cost will be an additional 50% of the Protein Identification rates for 1 D gel bands.  Please contact us to for further information.

 

Identification of site-specific modifications

Typically similar to protein identification rates for 1 D gel bands but may require more analysis (i.e., TiO2 enrichment of phosphopeptides).  Please contact us to discuss strategy and costs.
