The LGBTA Committee will be there to both explain the letters, the day and the LGBTA group and how you can be more involved here at UMass Medical School and Memorial Campus! 

We will also have local resource guides from Worcester Pride and the City of Worcester.

Hindu Festival of Lights / New Year

Diwali is one of the biggest festival of Hindus, celebrated with great enthusiasm and happiness in India. The festival is celebrated for five continuous days, where the third days is celebrated as the main Diwali festival or 'Festival of lights'. On this auspicious day, people light up diyas and candles all around their house. They perform Laxmi Puja in the evening and seek divine blessings of Goddess of Wealth. The festival od Diwali is never complete without exchange of gifts. People present diwali gifts to all near and dear ones.

UMass Medical School (UMMS) and UMass Memorial Health Care (UMMHC) Diversity and Inclusion Office will launch our Campus Read in the Faculty Conference Rm. on August 25th with Blindspot: The Hidden Biases of Good People. Click here to learn more!

The Diversity Campus Read program is designed to provide a campus-wide learning opportunity through literature, to encourage a common reading experience and to develop a sense of community at UMMS and UMMHC. All members of the UMMS and UMMHC communities are encouraged to read the Diversity Campus Read selection. Also, throughout the year, other events such as lectures and discussion groups will provide an opportunity for individuals and the community to gather and talk about the issues presented in the book.
