GSN Transition Plan to Doctorate of Nursing Practice

The University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Nursing Faculty are pleased to announce that we will be transitioning to the Doctorate of Nursing Practice for the preparation of all Advance Practice Nurses beginning with the class entering in the Fall of 2016. This transition is in keeping with American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) endorsement of the DNP as the current level of preparation necessary for advanced nursing practice (http://www.aacn.nche.edu/dnp/faqs).

GEP to Master’s Pathway (with consideration for Post-Master’s DNP entry)
BSN to DNP Pathway
BSN to Master’s Pathway (with consideration for Post-Master’s DNP entry)
Post-Master’s DNP Pathway: NP track and Nurse Administrator Track

Our pathway options for 2016 applicants will include:

Accelerated GEP to DNP Pathway for non nurses with a bachelor’s degree or higher wanting to become an RN then DNP with an NP track focus.

BSN to DNP Pathway for RN’s with a bachelor’s degree in nursing to become a DNP with an NP track focus.

Post-Master’s DNP pathway NP and Nurse Administrator Tracks.
