Collaboration between academic institutions, public sector agencies, private foundations, health care providers, non-profit organizations and citizens is vital to creating productive, healthy neighborhoods and communities. Commonwealth Medicine, a division of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, offers clients a proven model for identifying collaborative opportunities, building effective partnerships and developing turnkey operational solutions to enhance health and human services.Through these collaborations, and with the support of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, we are able to design, implement and support a wide array of programs and services to improve the health and well-being of the community. Our consultants and staff understand how community-based organizations work and think, and we are able to leverage this insight to navigate easily within a community. We are equipped to respond to the varying needs of diverse communitiesÑwhether a group of people or a geographic regionÑwith an emphasis on cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Our scope of services is wide-rangingÑfrom hands-on educational programs and direct consumer support, to consultation on new program development and partnership formations. What all of our initiatives have in common is a unique appreciation of the vital role community-based services play in public health care. In fact, the desire to work directly within local communities to improve services can be traced to the original inspiration for Commonwealth Medicine.
