Tracy Burns-Martin, M.S.
Director of HR and Organizational Development
Tracy Burns-Martin joined the Executive Leadership Team of Commonwealth Medicine, a division within the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) devoted to assisting state agencies to improve health care services delivered to vulnerable populations, as the Director of Workforce Planning and Development in December 2003. In this role, she combines her human resource management and organizational development experience to implement strategic workforce planning and leadership development initiatives. She is responsible for spearheading the Commonwealth Medicine Leadership Development Program, as well as Leadership Acclimation and Employee Engagement Programs.
Since her arrival, Ms. Burns-Martin has launched the UMMS Manager's Network and the Commonwealth Medicine Leadership Forum - two forums promoting cross collaboration and networking opportunities for leaders. She is also the co-chair of the Medical School's Civility Committee, a subgroup of the Council on Equal Opportunity and Diversity.
Ms. Burns-Martin received a bachelor's degree in Business and Human Resources from California State University and a master's degree in Organizational Development from Lesley University, Cambridge.
