Valerie Williams is a data analyst with experience in the areas of mental health and substance abuse treatment services, she has been involved with the evaluation of several federally-funded multi-site initiatives.
My research spans the domains of mental health and substance abuse within both the adult and child systems with specific focus on homelessness and housing, service system integration, and the mental health needs of youth in the juvenile justice system.
Ongoing Projects:
1. Evaluation of the CMHS/CSAT Homeless Families Program--Outcomes for mothers and children in homeless families receiving services at the Family Health Center will be compared with those of a group of homeless mothers and children recruited in shelters and not receiving Family Health Center (FHC)/Homeless Families Program (HFP) services.
2. Uses and Consequences of the Massachusetts Youth Screening Instrument-2 (MAYSI-2)--The goals of this multi-site project include describing the process leading to the adoption of the MAYSI-2; developing a detailed profile of how the instrument is administered; and assessing the impact of the MAYSI-2 on juvenile justice system responses to youths with mental disorders.
