Training and Education
The UMass Medical School Center for Health Policy and Research is dedicated to providing training and education regarding emerging health care policy, programs and best practices to a broad and diverse audience.
This audience includes:
Families and consumers
We also offer educational opportunities and resources to members of the public interested in health care careers and adoption services.
Medical and nursing students
We extend the medical school program beyond the classroom to include community medicine and public health programs such as clerkships, interclerkships, optional electives and summer internships.
We support clinicians and health care workers, as well as government agencies and community-based organizations, with workshops, conferences and training. We also provide specialty programs focused on specific needs, such as HIV/AIDS, foster care, clinical communication, MassHealth training and multicultural programs.
In addition to our standard programs, the Center for Health Policy and Research offers custom program development, management and implementation, as well as curricula and material development.
