April 13, 2009 – Zi Zhang Named Director for the Office of Survey Research
Dr. Zi Zhang became the permanent Director for the Office of Survey Research at the Center for Health Policy and Research. Dr. Zhang joins us from his position as a Senior Healthcare Analyst at Neighborhood Health Plan. Prior to that work, he was Director of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Survey Program for seven years. He was principally responsible for the Massachusetts Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and managed all aspects of the program’s million dollar annual operating budget.
Before his work at the Survey Program, he served as an epidemiologist at the Department of Public Health where he analyzed and reported vital statistics, hospital case mix, and survey data. He brings great knowledge in the areas of survey design, sampling, variance estimation, selection of appropriate statistical techniques, and multivariate analyses.
Dr. Zhang was trained as an Occupational Medicine physician in Jiangsu, China and earned his medical degree from Shanghai Medical University. He also received a Masters of Public Health in biostatistics and epidemiology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. We welcome him to the Center for Health Policy and Research and the Office of Survey Research.
