Bob Jenal came to the University from the private sector in 1981 at the Amherst campus. In 1989, he transferred to the Medical School campus as Director of Budget, Planning and Systems Coordination and has held increasingly complex leadership positions within Administration and Finance over the last 24 years. In 2009, Mr. Jenal was appointed to his current position as Executive Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance. As Executive Vice Chancellor, Mr. Jenal is responsible for leading and directing major institutional services that collectively provide the financial, information technology and facility and property management services fundamental to both the physical operation of the campus and the achievement of its fiscal objectives.
His professional accomplishments include an instrumental role in the initial development and support of Commonwealth Medicine and the transfer of MassBiologics to the University, support and management of major campus renewal and construction projects including the Medical School façade replacement project, Aaron Lazare Research Building, Brudnick Neuropsychiatric Institute, and recent additions of the Ambulatory Care Center and Albert Sherman Center. Mr. Jenal is responsible for development of the campus’ annual Long Range Financial Plan and operating budget and its implementation, the indirect cost rate and campus wide operational services.
Mr. Jenal is a graduate the University of Massachusetts Amherst and currently serves as President of Worcester City Campus Corporation, Treasurer of UHealth Solutions and is a member of the Board of Mechanics Hall.
