Cultivating Equanimity: Clear Mind, Open Heart
We all want to live fully with wisdom and ease
Doing so requires a firm intention to pay attention to our actions and the states of mind that cultivate wellbeing. In this five-week course, we will focus on equanimity - the ability to remain centered and loving through all circumstances.
Equanimity arises from how we live and what we do and think. It is the foundation for freedom and both creates and depends on the cultivation of kindness, compassion and joy.
During our evenings together, we will explore and examine each of these qualities in depth and cultivate them through mindfulness and exercises that we'll practice in class and at home.
This will include meditations on the cultivation of compassion and loving kindness and the expression of these qualities in our everyday lives. The course is experiential. There will be discussion and inquiry. Homework is required.
