Consulting
The CFDC is a recognized leader in faculty development throughout the country. In addition to regular educational programming, the CFDC consults at the institutional level with the aim of integrating faculty development into the "culture" of medical and health care professions education. Faculty Development Consultations provide guidance and on-site implementation including training workshops, professional and organizational development, allowing institutions to save resources while responding to individual institutional needs.
The UMass CFDC has and continues to provide programs, curriculum and training to medical schools across the country. In the most recent past, we have conducted programs for and in collaboration with Brown, Baylor, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dartmouth, Virginia Commonwealth University, Southern Illinois, University of Kentucky, South Alabama, Sophie Davis School of Medicine, Mt. Sinai, SUNY Upstate, and the University of New England, to name a few.
Feedback received:
"Due in no small part to your hard work and impressive contributions, this may be the beginning of a better faculty development project than I ever thought possible."
Jan Drutz, MD, Baylor College of Medicine
"We are genuinely pleased with the quality of educational experiences you facilitated for our community preceptors and hope that you will be able to work with us on future faculty development experiences."
Marie Dent, PhD, Mercer University
Depending on the level of the audience, all sessions can be and are adapted to meet the needs of contracting institutions. Currently, we are working with the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine, for whom we have conducted needs assessment studies and adapted our basic curriculum modules to meet their specific needs.
