History

The Clinical Faculty Development Center (CFDC) is recognized for its leadership in providing faculty development to primary care preceptors throughout the Northeast and for providing guidance to medical education programs nationally. Since its inception in 1996, the CFDC has:

  • Trained over 500 primary care faculty as part of four cycles of HRSA grants for workshops in teaching skills;
  • Trained 36 faculty as part of two cycles of HRSA grants for fellowships in teaching;
  • Organized a Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) of delegates from fourteen medical schools in the Northeast;
  • Provided consultation to programs in New England, Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Texas, Iceland, Ireland and Vietnam.

From 2001-2006 we ran a HRSA sponsored Leadership in Teaching Fellowship.

We are currently in the midst of a HRSA grant for workshops with primary care faculty from fourteen schools in the Northeast.
