If you are dropping off samples for analysis ….

ONE (1)

Submit a form

There are forms on the CFAR server in the sequencing results folder, these may be sent via email to CFAR@umassmed.edu

There are paper forms in the slot on the side of the book case which may be used for single tube samples (not 96 well plates). If you can’t find what you need or aren’t sure, just ask Lynn, Kim or Ellie in

suite 207 or send an email to CFAR@umassmed.edu and we’ll send you what you need. Alternatively, you may download the forms from the web at http://www.umassmed.edu/cfar , click on Molecular Biology Core in the left nav column.

TWO (2)

Put your samples in the fridge in the correct box

There are boxes for single analysis tubes, for reaction+analysis tubes and primers, and a box for 96 well plates.  If you’re not sure, please ask Lynn, Kim or Ellie in room 207.

THREE (3)

Log your samples into the book

Please put requested info in the book and be sure we can read your name and phone number in case we have a question.

Also this determines “who got here first”  !

SEQ                = analysis of finished samples (dry pellets)

SEQ+RXN       = templates (and maybe primers) for seq reaction + analysis

FRG               = DNA Fragment analysis (AFLP, Microsatellite, SNP, etc)

Thank You,
