1. Characterization of the genetics pathways that Smurf2 utilizes to induce senescence.

2. Delineation of the signaling pathways from telomere attrition to the elevation of Smurf2 expression.

3. Characterization of Smurf2’s function as an E3 ubiqutin ligase.

4. Generation of conditional Smurf2 transgenic or knock-out mice.

5. Will stem cells senesce?

Postdoctoral Position Available

Postdoctoral Position Available

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Zhang laboratory. Areas of study include the molecular mechanisms of senescence and its functions in cancer and aging. Both cell culture and mouse models are used. A Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology, genetics, or a related field is required. Prior experience in cell culture and mouse genetics is desirable.
