Osteoporosis
Our clinical studies have focused on the utility of peripheral bone mass measurements for the diagnosis of osteoporosis, the value of biochemical markers of bone turnover in the evaluation of the woman at risk for osteoporosis, and the role of calcium in the prevention of premenopausal bone loss. Our research interests have centered around the identification of the membrane receptor for 1a,25 dihydroxyvitamin D3, and the study of the bone effects of thyroid hormone.
