Undergraduates, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and medical students all benefit from education opportunities and activities in the Department of Cell Biology. Undergraduates work on senior research projects in the laboratories, learn through summer internships, and prepare for graduate school through the Pathway to Graduate Studies Program. Graduate students prepare for careers in biomedical research or related work in academic, clinical, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environments. Postdoctoral fellows continue their training through working with Cell Biology faculty mentors on cutting edge research projects. First year medical students meet their first “patient” in Cell Biology’s Human Gross Anatomy course now part of the new Development, Structure and Function course and acquire the basic science foundations for their medical training from Cell Biology Department faculty throughout their first 2 years of medical School.
