Cardiac pathology

I am the cardiac pathologist at UMMHC and consultant cardiac pathologist at St. Vincent Hospital, in addition to being a non-invasive cardiologist (UMMHC). I am also co-director of the pathophysiology course for cardiology and patholgy; the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease.

• Development of new ultrasound technology as well as histopathological correlations between ultrasound imaging, atherosclerotic plaque histopathology and clinical outcome (human studies done at UMMS and collaborative study ongoing with the University Hospital, Geneva, Switzerland).
• Inflammation and its effect on the microcirculation (animals model)
• Inhibition of atherosclerosis in a small animal model
