Overview of Cancer Center Seminars
Exposure to the broadest possible spectrum of ideas and experimental approaches within the scientific community is vital for the development of a career in research. The Cancer Center maximizes opportunities for such scientific exchanges through its seminar series. These formal seminars feature nationally and internationally prominent scientists, reflecting diverse research interests. Guest speakers typically spend the day in our facility meeting informally with faculty, students and postdoctoral fellows.
Each department within the University of Massachusetts Worcester Campus offers seminar programs that are open to the University community. In addition, an interdepartmental program, The Scientific Basis of Medicine , hosts internationally recognized leaders in a variety of areas of biomedical research, featuring topics of vital interest to both basic scientists and clinical researchers.
The Graduate School of Biomedical Science holds an annual Graduate Student Symposium, providing a forum for graduate students to present their research findings to the entire Worcester Campus research community.
