Introduction

The Center for Tobacco Prevention and Control is committed to providing the most up-to-date, evidence-based information on the prevention and treatment of nicotine dependence. The Center is actively engaged in a wide range of tobacco-related research, clinical treatment services, technical assistance, and professional education programs. The Massachusetts Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) Training and Certification Program, housed within the Center, is a nationally recognized, professional certification program.

We also are pleased to present our National Registry of Master Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialists, an elite group of tobacco treatment providers who have a minimum of 2000 hours experience in tobacco treatment and have met the stringent certification requirements of the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

A new 1 CME online course for MDs, NPs, PAs, & RNs is now available to help tobacco treatment providers conduct a 45 minute intake and assessment session with tobacco users. To learn more about the free CME course click here.
