Would you like to improve your diet and possibly lose weight?
What is the Can Do Study?
The Can Do research study will compare two dietary change methods, the American Heart Association Diet and a High Fiber Diet. Results will help us to understand whether a simple dietary recommendation can have as much or greater impact on overall dietary quality than a more complex, combination recommendation.
How long is the study?
Your participation in the research will last for 12 months. You will be asked to complete 5 dietary education sessions during the first 3 months of the study and an additional 9 monthly sessions for a total of 14 dietary intervention sessions. All visits and nutrition counseling sessions will be at the Prevention Institute located at the UMass Medical School Campus, 2nd floor Shaw Building, 419 Belmont St., Worcester, Mass.
Who can join the Can Do Study?
Non-diabetic men and women between the ages of 21-70 years old that meet the eligibility criteria.
