Hot Flashes

Hot Flash Research Studies

What are the Hot Flash Research Studies?

Hot flashes and night sweats affect many women going through menopause.
Women are looking for other remedies for hot flashes and night sweats,
since studies have shown increased health risks associated with horomone
therapy.

The UMass Hot Flash Research Studies will help us better understand
whether soy supplements or daily meditation can reduce hot flashes and
night sweats. About 500 women of different racial and ethnic backgrounds
from nearby communities will take part in the study.

Are you a woman between 40 and 69 years old AND have about 5 or more hot flashes a day? UMASS is offering women an opportunity to participate in a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program class for a research study or to participate in a research study using soy tablets for hot flashes.
