Who We Are
The Office of Foster Care and Adoption provides objective, evidence-based resources, education, and training for professionals who work with children of adoption and foster care as well as for birth, foster, and adoptive families.
We are dedicated to facilitating permanency and healthy development for these children, because we believe that every child deserves a permanent, safe, loving home.
Our team offers a wide range of services and resources for professionals and families interested in foster care and adoption issues:

Our collaborative relationships with our UMass Medical School colleagues enable us to incorporate current medical research on mental and physical health, foster care, and adoption into all of our work with professionals and families.

Employee donations help Massachusetts children and youth living in foster care
Employees of UMass Medical School's Commonwealth Medicine (CWM) division and its affiliates, made the lives of Massachusetts children and youth living in foster care a little bit brighter by donating more than 2,000 items valued at approximately $10,000 to the Department of Children and Families during Foster Care Month in May.

Henry, and Senior Fellow, Daniel Pollack, this book provides a consolidated picture of adoption including information on both the medical and health aspects of adoption, the different laws and procedures regarding adoption for each state, and the regulations for adoptions from public foster care, intercountry adoptions, and domestic infant adoptions.
