Education & Training

The Education and Training division of the Center for Adoption Research develops targeted, multi-disciplinary curricula and delivers high quality professional development and trainings. Our experienced curriculum developers and trainers have backgrounds in developmental psychology, education and social work.

The Center provides professional development, education and training programs specific to foster care and adoption for a wide range of audiences, including:

• Medical professionals
• Mental health professionals
• Education professionals
• Child welfare professionals
• Social work professionals
• Legal professionals
• Medical students
• Members of the adoption triad

Our program topics include:

• Importance of permanency for adolescents in foster care
• Working with kinship families
• Introductory and advanced training for foster and kinship families
