Support the UMass ALS Champion Fund – Run the Boston Marathon!

UMass Medical School (UMMS) has once again been selected to participate in the Boston Marathon. John Hancock, principal sponsor of the event, accepted the UMass ALS Champion Fund for the second time into its nonprofit bib program, this year allowing UMMS to give eight official race numbers to marathoners who commit to raising at least $6,000 each for the fund.

Last year’s effort was a great success. Because of their dedication and commitment, the 2012 UMass ALS Champion Fund Boston Marathon team raised more than $80,000 for the groundbreaking ALS research being conducted at UMMS. We are thrilled to have another opportunity to raise awareness—and vital funding—through this nationally recognized event.

Highly motivated runners/fundraisers interested in participating in the 2013 Boston Marathon on behalf of the Champion Fund are encouraged to apply. Please complete an application and submit to:
