J-1 Clinical (Graduate Medical Education) Immigration Packets 

ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) sponsors J-1 Foreign Medical Graduates on their J-1 program. Therefore, the Form DS-2019 is issued by ECFMG and not by Immigration Services. However Immigrations Services is the designated program liason between the J-1 resident and ECFMG.

Submit the completed appropriate J-1 Clinical GME immigration packet to Immigration Services at least 60 - 90 days prior to the desired start date. Be sure to type or print clearly and provide all requested information. Incomplete / illegible information may cause processing delays.

J-1 Clinical Initial Immigration Packet (for individuals not currently holding J-1 ECFMG documents) - J-1 Clinical Continuation Immigration Packet (for indivduals already in U.S. on J-1 ECFMG program at UMMS or elsewhere).
