HOW CAN PATIENTS HELP?

When you come to UMass Memorial you can sign up to participate in Conquering Diseases. When your doctor is taking a sample of your blood, we will ask that a small amount of extra blood be collected.

Your blood will be available for use in research by Medical School scientists and UMass doctors. We will remove your name and identifying information from the sample (your address, phone number, etc.). Only health information will be kept.

Your taking part in Conquering Diseases is expected to help us gain information on how to better diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases that you and your family are concerned with each and every day. You should tell your doctor about your participation in Conquering Diseases.
