Cardiovascular Core

The Cardiovascular Core utilizes a state-of-the-art imaging platform to study heart and vascular disease associated with diabetes.

  • Non-invasive assessment of cardiac structure and function in M-mode and 2D using the VisualSonics Vevo 2100 imaging platform. Measurements include left ventricular ejection fraction, LV mass, fractional shortening, chamber size and wall thickness.(photo)
  • Non-invasive vascular assessment of the thoracic and abdominal aorta to evaluate atherosclerotic plaques.
