Hematopathology Fellowship 

Description: The Department of Pathology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School – UMass Memorial Medical Center offers a one-year ACGME – accredited fellowship program in Hematopathology. The UMass Memorial Medical Center is the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School and the largest health care system in Central Massachusetts. The Department of Pathology provides hematopathology consultation services to all of Central Massachusetts. Approximately 1100 bone marrows, 300 lymph node specimens and 2150 diagnostic flow cytometry cases are seen annually. The program is designed to provide the trainee with a broad exposure to all aspects of diagnostic hematopathology, including bone marrow and lymph node pathology, peripheral blood and body fluid examination, general hematology and coagulation, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, molecular pathology and cytogenetics. The fellows are encouraged to work with the faculty, or independently, during their training to pursue a research project.

Requirements:  Candidates should possess MD degree and be board certified/eligible in either anatomic pathology or clinical pathology, combined training is preferred. The candidates must have passed Step 3 of the USMLE.

Stipends:  The stipend is determined by previous pathology training and experience.
