UMASS Medical School and Intradigm Corporation announce Exclusive Licensing Agreements for human uses of RNAi Technologies invented by Dr. Phillip Zamore of UMass (the "Zamore Design Rules"). 

 

UMASS Medical School and the Carnegie Institution of Washington Announce Licensing Agreements with Oxford Biomedica for Mello and Fire RNAi Technology RNAi Technology invented by Nobel-Prize-Winning UMASS scientist Craig Mello licensed to Oxford Biomedica.

 

 

Our services 
 
Comprised of individuals with a blend of scientific, technical, legal and business acumen, the OTM staff  is committed to excellence in an array of services related to the commercialization of intellectual property. We  directly facilitate the processing of material transfer agreements (MTAs) received from non-profit academic research institutions and companies. We execute confidentiality agreements (CDAs) between institutions in order to protect investigators' unpublished research results, information and patent-pending subject matter. We serve to educate researchers about the personal and societal benefits of submitting  invention disclosure forms to the OTM. We comply with all institutional, state and federal guidelines as we protect the intellectual property of our faculty. 
 
 
When to contact the Office of Technology Management: 
 
You have or think you have made an invention or discovery.
The OTM can advise you on the invention disclosure process and will advise on the appropriate steps to protect your invention.
 
Before you publish or present potentially patentable or commercially useful information.
OTM staff will advise you on the possible forfeiture of patent rights that could occur from such publication or presentation, and on steps to take to avoid such forfeiture.
 
 
You are named as an inventor on an invention or patent filed by a company or another univer sity.
In order to ensure that your interests and the interests of the University of Massachusetts Medical School are protected, OTM can work with other entities on the effective management of the invention.
 
 
You have any questions concerning intellectual property and its protection.
OTM can walk you through all of the processes involved in the protection of intellectual property and assist with the development of strategies to derive the maximum commercial and societal benefit from your invention.
