Message From the Director

directorStudents planning for a career in biomedical research and academic medicine should consider the MD/PHD program at the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS). The MD/PHD program combines the curricula of the Medical and Graduate schools and provides a comprehensive education in both clinical and basic science research disciplines.  UMMS has grown extensively in the past six years, adding over 120 new, respected research faculty with total grant support of ~190 million dollars.  The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has proposed legislature to fund UMass over $100 million dollars to develop a national stem cell bank, and an RNAi Therapeutics Research Center.
