Customized Training Program
Based on factors such as size and complexity, an organization may prefer to develop a customized medical interpreter program. The Office of Community Program (OCP) can provide assistance in creating a program that addresses the unique needs of your organization. Once the program is developed, the actual training of staff can occur in one of two ways:
- Our staff provides the on-site program training
- Our staff helps you to create the systems and infrastructure to run the program with internal staff.
Regardless of the training approach, developing an effective program includes the following elements:
- Community assessment of language group needs
- Internal assessment of institutional needs
- Establishment of a delivery system
- Training and competency measures
- Evaluation
