Comprehensive Course 54 Hour
The 54-hour program incorporates the introductory training plus additional competency skills in medical terminology, culture and delivery of health care, interpreting in the primary care setting and for pediatric patients, mental health, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, interpreting during emergency situations, and grief, death and dying. Role playing and medical terminology is also incorporated into each session. A 3-hour practicum is required at a health care facility under the supervision of a trained interpreter.

Who Should Attend
Bilingual staff/volunteers who need to develop their skills to a level where they can perform the role of medical interpreter in accordance with the national medical interpreter association standards of practice and code of ethics.
Registration
Pre-registration and an entry assessment are required for admission. Early sign up early is recommended as class size is often limited.
