Hospital Medicine Fellowship

Introduction: 
The Hospital Medicine Fellowship is a 1-year unaccredited program offering training
in the field of hospital medicine for family medicine-trained physicians. Currently, 3%
of hospitalists who comprise membership of the Society of Hospital Medicine have a
background in family medicine.  Family medicine residency programs have decreased the
amount of inpatient training when compared with internal medicine programs.  The goal
of this fellowship is to expand and enhance inpatient and critical care skills of family medicine
physicians who wish to pursue careers in the field of hospital medicine.  Our curriculum
integrates the core competencies in hospital medicine as established by the Society of Hospital
Medicine. 

Requirements:
BC/BE in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Med/Peds
Full Massachusetts Medical License
Current BLS/ACLS

Length of Fellowship:
1-year (Start date July 15, 2008) 

Number of Fellows Accepted:
Two per year
