Programs
The CFDC conducts Teaching of Tomorrow (TOT) workshops for community based preceptors, designed to develop the teaching skills necessary to incorporate trainees into busy practices and maximize the learning potential of the experience. Upon completion of this course, graduates become eligible to participate in the CFDC Fellowship, preparing them to become leaders in academic medicine.
The Teach the Teachers (TTT) national conferences are designed to enhance dissemination of preceptor development to a national audience. The CFDC offers these programs to medical school clerkship directors, residency directors, AHEC Staff and other health care professionals responsible for community-based education in order to prepare them for successful planning within their own institutions.
The Faculty Development Fellowship for Leaders in Primary Care is one-year educational experienced designed to allow Fellows to develop their identities as teachers within the Medical School by enhancing their skills as educators and educational scholars. The Fellowship includes a once-monthly half-day seminar series and optional opportunities for teaching including participation in the Teaching of Tomorrow series; completion of an educational project under the mentorship of a senior faculty member is also an option for interested participants.
