Joan grew up in Maine and received her BA in psychology and Spanish from Prescott College in Arizona in 2005. She recently earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Pacific University in Oregon with a focus in health psychology and culturally competent treatment. She completed her clinical internship at St. James Hospital in Chicago on the consultation/liaison service.
She has particular interest in health behavior change, diabetes management, weight loss, and culturally competent treatment. Joan has spent time studying and working in Mexico and Costa Rica. She conducts her clinical practice in both Spanish and English. During her free time you can find Joan exploring the outdoors, cooking, or spending time with her family.
