2012-2013 Fellows

Jarrod Faucher, DO is a Worcester native who attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA, and graduated in 2008. He completed his internship and residency at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He stayed at Saint Vincent Hospital for an additional year as a Chief Medical Resident before starting his Geriatrics Fellowship at UMass in July. He plans on staying local after his fellowship year and practice in the area.
Abhijeet Patil, MD, MS was born and raised in a small town ‘Beed’ in India. With the intent to study medicine and passion to help others, he attended Grant Medical College in Mumbai. He then went to Miami University in Ohio where obtained two Master degrees in Exercise & Health Studies and Sport Psychology. He chose to pursue the challenging and rewarding Family Medicine path because he believes in holistic care of an individual, continuity care for his patients, and is committed to service to the community. He worked as a Chief resident at Hennepin County Medical Center program in Minneapolis and was a recipient of the prestigious ‘Eldon Berglund’ resident of year award.

Elizabeth Howard MD will be completing her fellowship year in Geriatrics at UMASS in June of 2012. She obtained her undergraduate training at Brown University in Providence Rhode Island and her medical school degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda Maryland. Dr Howard served as a Commander in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps .She completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma Washington. She was stationed in Tahlequah Oklahoma with the USPHS and served as a physician clinical provider and department of internal medicine chief for the W.W. Hastings Hospital. Her civilian career has included a medical practice in a multispecialty medical group setting in Canandaigua New York and an internal medicine practice with Fallon Clinic in Worcester with a focus on caring for the elderly population. She has been in clinical practice for 25 years. Dr. Howard will complete fellowship training to continue her focus on the improvement of medical services for our elders in the community, both through evidence based medicine and education. Dr. Howard has joined the Geriatric Medicine faculty at UMassMemorial Medical Center
Bhavani Peddagovindu completed medical school at Osmania Medical College in India. She has also completed a master’s in public health from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She then completed her internal medicine residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, MA. Dr. Peddagovindu has moved to Portland, Oregon to begin a practice there.
