Follow Route 122 toward Worcester. After crossing Route 20, at the next light, about 1/2 mile, turn right onto Sunderland Road. Go under RR Bridge. Turn left onto South Lake Avenue. Follow until you get to the Route 9 stop light. (The lake is on the right and Mr Tux is on the corner). Turn left onto Route 9 Belmont Street. Follow through 2 sets of lights (Route 9). After 2nd set of lights, the next right will be the entrance to the State Hospital, which is across from the Piccadilly Plaza. The Bryan Building is at the top of the hill on your left. Coming From: Rhode Island (Blackstone Valley)
Take 146 North toward Worcester. Follow into Worcester. At Brosnihan Square (Route 290 signs) get onto Route 290 East. Follow this to Exit 17 (to Leicester-Westboro, Route 9, Belmont Street). At the end of the exit ramp turn right onto Route 9 Belmont Street. Follow about 1 1/2 miles. The State Hospital entrance is on the left across from the Piccadilly Plaza. The Bryan Building is at the top of the hill on your left. Coming From: Fitchburg Area
Take Route 190 South toward Worcester at the merge of Routes 190 and 290. You want 290 East. Take 290 East to the Plantation Street exit. Go down the exit ramp. At the bottom of the ramp turn right. This is Plantation Street. Follow to the stoplight. You will pass U/Mass. Medical Center on your left and Worcester Biotech Park on your right. At the stop light turn right onto Belmont Street (Route 9). Go up the hill straight through the light. The entrance to the State Hospital is on the right across from Piccadilly Plaza. The Bryan Building is at the top of the hill on your left. Coming From: Boston
Take the Mass. Pike West to Exit 11A (Route 495). Take 495 North to Route 9 West. (Route 9 is the first exit off Route 495). Make sure you take Route 9 WEST toward Westboro-Worcester. Follow Route 9, through Shrewsbury. You will cross Lake Quinsigamond. After crossing the Lake, you will be in Worcester. Stay on Route 9 straight up the hill through 4 sets of lights, after the 4th set of lights, Worcester State Hospital will be on the right across from Piccadilly Plaza. The Bryan Building is at the top of the hill on your left. Coming From: The South
Take Route 395 North to Auburn. It will merge with Route 290 East. Follow Route 290 East to Exit 17 (Leicester-Westboro, Route 9, Belmont Street). At the end of the exit ramp turn right at the set of lights onto Route 9 - Belmont Street. Follow approximately 1-1/2 miles. The entrance to the State Hospital is on your left, at set of lights, and across from the Piccadilly Plaza. The Bryan Building is at the top of the hill on your left. Coming From: The North
Take Route 495 South to Route 290 West. Take Route 290 West to Exit 22 (Lincoln Street/Worcester/Shrewsbury). Off the exit ramp turn right. Follow to the second stoplight. (the Armory is on your left). Turn left at the light onto Plantation Street. Stay on Plantation Street. You will pass U/Mass. Medical Center on your left and Worcester Biotech Park on your right. At the stop light at the end of Plantation Street turn right up the hill onto Rt 9 West. Follow straight through the light at the top of the hill. The entrance to the State Hospital is on the right across from Piccadilly Plaza. The Bryan Building is at the top of the hill on your left. Coming From: Western Mass.
Take the Mass. Pike East to Exit 10 (Auburn ). When you get off at the exit, follow the signs to Route 290 East toward Worcester. Get off at Exit 17 (to Leicester-Westboro, Route 9, Belmont Street). Follow approximately 1-1/2 miles. The entrance to the State Hospital is on your left, at set of lights, and across from the Piccadilly Plaza. The Bryan Building is at the top of the hill on your left. |
